Oh My Dear Candice...

It happened just so sudden. I wasn't prepared for it. It was a rainy night, and I was traveling back with her after a night out with some friends when it happened. She began to act weirdly, as though she is trying to tell me something. I just ignored and carried on. She reacted even more violently....choking, shaking, gasping for air...as though it was a sign that her time is up. Yet I pushed her to go even further, thinking that she was just being emotional and will come to her senses soon. Then it happened...the next day...she didn't respond to me calling. There wasn't a sound...not even a whisper. Is she dead?! I panicked and called for help. A friend came over to help me try "resurrect" her but to no avail. I called for the professionals and they came and took her away in hopes of reviving her. I pray that she will be well and that everything will be ok again...and that it doesn't cost me a bomb to fix my car!

My Little Hideaway

Have you ever got that special feeling when you were a kid, that whenever you are in a place, say a toy shop or a candy store, your eyes lit up...you feel like you're in wonderland, never wanting to leave...and that nothing else in the world matters? Well, for me, I have one such particular hideaway that has always been dear to me. It's not a toy shop nor is it a candy store...my hideaway  has always been this particular record shop in Subang Parade. Yup, it always brings back so many memories, simply because I spent hours there after classes during my college days just listening to stacks and stacks of CDs without actually having to purchase any! Each time I'm there makes me feel like a kid in a toy store...never wanting to leave and I'll be so happy!

You see, this particular record shop used to be known as Pennylane. Back then, it was the only record shop I know that would actually allow you to listen to CDs without you purchasing it. Pennylane is small, simple and provides a very cozy environment for listening. Think of it like your local neighborhood pub. Not too commercialized, yet it draws back the loyal customers because of its simplicity and friendly customer service. Come to think of it, I used to frequent there so often that the owners always ask me how I am whenever I came by for a visit. Can you also imagine, how much I have spent purchasing CDs from there over the years? (yes I buy a lot...and I mean A LOT of original CDs....you won't even imagine!)

Fast forward 7 years later, Pennylane is no longer there, but it has been bought over by Rock Corner, a music store chain owned by Eastern Records. But even when Rock Corner took over the outlet in Subang Parade, they never expanded the size of the store, which kept the small cozy feeling I still like, unlike other Rock Corner outlets. Yes, even though it's now a place of a different name and interior, the feeling is very much the same each time I go there. It's funny because I don't get the same feeling for any other Rock Corner outlets I visit....maybe it's just nostalgic to me.

my little hideaway..

So today, I was in Subang Parade to meet a friend up. I was early by an hour, so I went to my favorite hideaway....and guess what?...I end up purchasing 3 CDs! Sigh!...I can't help it! It's the one place in Malaysia that I can spend like the whole day there if time permits.

The 3 CDs I purchased..."An Evening of Jazz with Cat", "Eriko Ishihara" & "Julia Duncan"

Oh...there is also another place which has a similar effect on me each time I visit Singapore too. This place called That CD Shop situated at Pacific Plaza on Scotts Road...the added bonus of this outlet is maybe because the promoters are cute and hot! Hehe!

So now you know if I'm feeling a little under the weather...you know where to find me. ;)

Chowtut Nights

The term "Chowtut" is frequently used amongst my group of drinking buddies from work. It simply means an overdose or the state of becoming super high on a certain substance. For example, you can say "That fella got really super chowtut yesterday!" which simply means he was fucking high yesterday. The substance can be of any sort...alcohol, drugs, sex, food...the list goes on!

Having said that, during the pass week, my friends and I had 2 chowtut sessions. The first was last Saturday night at Tao Modesto's at Plaza TTDI. You see, it's been a long while since we had one of these big drinking sessions. Actually, it was ever since that my colleague Jek had twins. Last Saturday was one of the few "passport" moments for him where he can get to go out drinking with us so we just have to utilize the moment. That night, we started off with 2 bottles of whiskey and ended up doing shots of different sorts. The night started off quiet as there were only a couple of us there at first. Then, as more people came, and the alcohol began to flow...things became more fun!

To be honest, after the drinking session, we went for supper at a nearby mamak but what happen after that was a total blur to both Jek and I. We didn't really remember much after that and I for one didn't know how I got home. Sound really scary actually. It's as though we were teleported back to our respective houses.

Then last Wednesday night, Jek wanted to clear his old wines and liquor to make way for a new stash which he bought recently. If you ask me, it's a darn good excuse for drinking. LOL. This time, I decided to play host and get people to come by my condo to wreck havoc. Again we started off slow with wines and then moved to whiskey. I whipped out a bottle of tequila from my stash and it was hit! I decided to down everyone with tequila shots. It's a new bottle mind you and by the night is done, there was only 1/4 of it left...and all these only through shots and no mixers! Imagine that!

Anyway, it was a blast and I bet everyone had fun. No one really got chowtut that night actually, but Rabin was talking a lot of cock and we all were laughing non stop till wee hours in the morning.

Until then...click here to view more pictures from that night.
