Happy New Year??

It’s that time of the year again, where everyone does their new year’s resolution, party and sing “Auld Lang Syne”. So what’s your new year’s resolution for 2008? For me, I’m predicting a more “challenging” year for me, simply because I think I have to make a lot of sacrifices next year. Before you all go “WHOAH..sacrifice what?..life?!!”, no..it simply means that I have to start being more careful with my spendings. Well, this means going out a whole lot less, no more holidays, no more unnecessary partying, spending and pampering. Why? Well, because I have to start saving for my new condo. Just to give you a picture of why, just the other day, I went window shopping for electrical appliances…you know just the basic washing machine, fridge, microwave oven, etc…those alone cost around RM 10k. I still have to think about renovations, furniture, lightings and all other extra stuff which could all total to around RM50k or more.

I’m just bracing myself I guess and giving everyone the heads up incase you ask me why I’m becoming less and less anti-social and not happening anymore. So there…one of my new year’s resolutions I guess. How was 2007 overall for me? Well let’s just say, it turned out quite well in the end as I have some things fulfilled (although not all). So let’s hope everything turns out better in 2008.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas Eve Party @ Janice's Place

Tis' the season to be jolly...so what better way than to have a Christmas eve party. This year, I broke a 27 year tradition of spending Christmas eve with my family. If you ask me why?...well...sometimes...it just feels good to have a change of environment. This year I spent Christmas eve at Janice's place. The food was simply excellent...thanks to Janice and her 2 sisters. We had like...sausage cocktails, bread wrap, vege sticks, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, pesto pasta, tuna pasta, fish kebabs, chicken kebabs, beef kebabs, bacon wraps, sausages, mushrooms, garlic bread and trifle...and a barbecue pit (hungry yet?)

Each of us had to bring a gift that night because there will be a gift exchange game later on. There were lots of other 'stupid' fun games, which were quite entertaining.

Anyway..here are some of the pictures of that night courtesy of Janice...

'Waahhh! I got 2 pressies...I feel like a kid again..."

"So..is this mine??...Can I open this one already??"

After a few drinks...everyone is happy and a camwhore!

Special thanks to Janice and her family for inviting me over...Merry Christmas!

Company Dinner Cruise

Last Friday, I had a company Christmas dinner on a boat. No really! I'm not kidding! My company charted a whole boat for a dinner cruise at Putrajaya. Well I got to say, it was something quite different. It was a fine-dining, 4-coursed meal, and honestly, it was pretty decent. The cruise took about 2 hours including the dinner. Prior to that, we brought along our gift wrapped presents to be exchanged during what we call "Dirty Santa". It was fun, except that I ended up with a box of micro jigsaw puzzle with a Disney picture! *grrr* When I say micro, I'm talking about a 200 piece jigsaw that fits into a box the size of a deck of cards. You can imagine how small a piece is right? Well, the whole idea of "Dirty Santa" was to take away another person's gift in exchange for what he/she wants. I had an Umbro shoe bag, but was "snatched" away in returned for the jigsaw!! Anyway, I will tell you the rules of "Dirty Santa" later.

Here are some pictures from that day..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us!!!

Embarrassing Stories

If you're thinking that these stories are my embarrassing stories...well...think again! But hey, I would like to share these 2 incidences that I have actually encountered courtesy of others and by the end of both, you tell me which one is more embarrassing.

Incident 1
This took place at One Utama shopping centre a very long time ago (it was during my secondary school days). Back then, it was a trend to wear low-cut baggy jeans till they look like they're going to fall off or something (remember that time?). Anyway, it was a friend's birthday, and we were suppose to meet up in the shopping centre for a birthday celebration with a bunch of girls from another school, because my friend invited them. Our meeting point was in front of Jusco supermarket (back then there was no new wing yet!). So the birthday boy was sporting his baggy jeans that day in hopes of impressing the girls. It was so low, you could actually see his underwear from the back. We were there first, and later the girls came by and talked to my friend the birthday boy. I being the prankster, yanked his jeans hard till it fell straight down to the floor while he was talking to the girls (luckily he was wearing underwear!). Not only that, can you imagine the amount of people in that area?!! My friend was so embarrassed; he pulled his jeans up and chased the hell out of me, leaving the girls there stranded. I think I might have mentally scarred him for life during that incident.

Incident 2
A friend and I were driving around one afternoon and I had to stop to go use the restroom. So we stopped by this petrol kiosk as my friend had to fill up the tank anyway. I went in to the gents and had to use one of the cubicles as the urinals were out of order (so typical right?). So anyway, there were 2 doors. One was obviously closed and locked which only left the one which was slightly opened. Needless to say, I pushed it opened so that I can enter, and to my horror, there was a young girl there squatting taking a dump in full view!! The girl didn't scream or anything as I guess she was too shocked or embarrassed herself to react. I just said sorry (duh!!) and closed the door and went out laughing telling my friend of what happened. It turns out, the ladies restroom is locked and requires a key from the counter to be opened. I guess she was having an "emergency" and didn't bother asking. Why the heck do most of the petrol kiosks lock the ladies restroom to begin with anyway??!! So yeah, can you imagine that girl? She probably came out peeking if I was still around before coming out of the restroom. Oh, btw, I managed to hold it in and went to a shopping mall to relieve myself later on :)

So which do you think is more embarrassing eh?

In Need Of Talents

DO YOU LIKE ICE CREAM?

DO YOU WANT TO BE FAMOUS?

If you answered "Yes" to both of the above, do let me know. I'm looking for talents both male and female, age between 20 till 60. Yes this means it also includes your uncles, aunties, brother, sister, mistresses, ex-girlfriends...or who ever you might think is interested or decent looking enough, from any ethnicity.

This is a photo shoot for a client, to get some stock images to be use on their upcoming desktop calendars, cards and also their website. The pay well....ICE CREAM! They are offering 10 pints worth of ice cream to who ever they select. Of course this comes in the form of vouchers where you can exchange for pints at anytime at any outlet. Not bad for only a 1/2 day or so photo shoot right?

There will be only 10 selected talents for the shoot. The date, time and location of the shoot will be finalized this Wednesday (5th December), but at the mean time, if you are interested to get some free ice cream (and get fat!), do let me know and start spreading the word!

*Note: the client sells premium ice cream and not ice cream potong. So ONLY if you're really interested, will I let you know who they are.
