Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Launch

It's finally here. The Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer was launched today at The Apartment @ KLCC. Alex, Sonia and I were there for the launch where we got a first hand glance at the real thing. I must say, it's really awesome. Dinner was provided by The Apartment which was not bad which was washed down with alcohol :)

The Naked Truth

Behold the all new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution a.k.a. Evolution 10. Well this is what I am currently busy working on...the website launch of this beast of a car. Bet you didn't know that the Evo 10 is the only car of the Evolution series that is build from scratch without any reference from the previous 9 of the series. It's a fucking awesome car that any car enthusiast will definitely drool upon.

Anyway, I won't tell you much and want you to check out the website for details later on. Or you can check out the car review done by Top Gear where it totally outclassed and out performed the Subaru Impreza WRX in all areas.

Noticed the count down timer on the teaser site? Well, that is also my deadline that I am currently rushing for...so in a way, when we brilliantly suggested the countdown timer idea to our client to create the hype...little did we know it's like signing our death sentence as well! :(

The launch event is tomorrow and the client has promised us a first hand test drive of the new Evolution car after the launch *yay!!* Now...only thing is if I can even make it for the launch in time while putting up finishing touches to the website. So stay tuned for pictures of the launch (hopefully) and also the website.

My New LCD TV

Last Monday, I bought an LCD TV for my new place. A 32" Toshiba Regza. Well, my place isn't ready yet, but I got this at a bargain so I grabbed it while I can. You see, my brother's friend won this off a lucky draw, and she wanted to sell it away. I only paid RM1900 for it. Not bad right? The specs are not really high end, but it's good enough for me. Right now, it's being hooked up to an Audiolab amplifier and a Bose speaker system which I will also bring over to my new place. *drool drool* Sweet huh?

16-03 Update:
On another note, my condo renovations are scheduled to start mid May. There's lots of things to be done. Hacking down a wall from the master bedroom to the study to become a walk-in wardrobe, changing tiles in all 3 rooms to timber flooring, plaster ceiling in the main hall for downward lightings and corneys all round the place. Right now, I'm still thinking of what colors to be up on the walls. I'm pretty much set on the wall in dining area to be mustard yellow together with dark brown furniture. There is another wall which is going to be a feature wall where there will be paintings and photo frames. The feature wall is the first wall upon entering the place. I was thinking of painting that either Olive Green or Rust Brown color. The rest of the walls are cream in color. Below is a sketch of my reno plans...what do you think?

I'm a Sneakerhead!

"Hi! My name is Nick and I'm a sneakerhead".

I finally found a new hobby (well not very new actually, it just didn't really took off a few years ago), a VERY expensive hobby too, collecting limited edition sneakers and shoes! Well, some people or in fact most people think it's crazy and a total waste of money, but the truth is....I CAN'T HELP MYSELF! It all started when I bought a pair of rare Adidas Superstar sneakers when I was in Hong Kong, about 2 years ago. Ever since then, I've been buying several sneakers (some limited editions), whenever I can. Most of them are bought from overseas as they are relatively hard (sometimes impossible) to get here. I don't know, I just got a "thing" for these sneakers. Maybe it's the colors, the designs, but whatever it is, I'm drawn to it. These limited edition sneakers can range from RM400 ++ way up to RM1,500 per pair. Insane? Totally! And as some of you know, I recently purchase a pair of limited edition Puma Miharas during my recent trip to Bangkok.

My pair of limited edition Miharas

I was walking at The Gardens the other day, when I then came across this shop called SoleWhat? which is one of the very few places that sell limited edition shoes in KL. Holy crap! My eyes lit up when I went in. Not because of the interior deco of the shop, but rather the collection of limited edition shoes that they have! They even carry the Onitsuka Tiger brand which I think is the first shop in Malaysia to sell this brand (but I might be wrong here).

Then suddenly from a distance, I could hear a pair calling out my name... As I turned and looked, I saw these beautiful pair of limited edition Nike Woven Air Footscapes! It was love at first sight I tell you. These pair are so rare, that they only have 2 pairs of each color available in Malaysia! Immediately I asked to try on a pair, and they fit PERFECTLY! It was so comfortable, that for a moment, I actually was thinking to make a run for it after putting both sides on! Haha...well, only problem is...it's freaking RM750 bucks!

Love at first sight! The Hideout x Nike Woven Air Footscape

The one I saw was in black and red stripe, with a transparent "gel" sole. Siigghh! Now there is a huge temptation for me to get one, and I've been contemplating whether to get it or not for a few days already. Only thing is, I just got a pair of Pumas and I think I need a bit of time to recuperate. If I were to get it, it will mean I have to sacrifice my other spendings, but if I don't, I might not be able to see or get them ever again! (did I mention there are only 2 pairs in Malaysia?) Arrrgghh! Decisions decisions. Help! Maybe you can start a donation drive to help raise funds for me to get that pair? Hahah...we shall see if it's fated for me to get it or not then.

A "Secret" Revealed

I bet I caught your attention with the title eh? Well actually it's not THAT big of a secret, but I have been extremely low key about the situation. Some of you reading this will already know that coming Wednesday (19 September) will be my last day in my current company.

Why?
Well because I just felt I needed a change of environment, as I am starting to feel things are getting a bit mundane and I needed something new and different. Plus the place I'm going to are able to offer me what I'm asking for (for now at least...hehe). So why not right? It will be a very good learning curve for me as I will be taking on a dual role in that company, having more decision making responsibilities in terms of building the company, which is a good thing.

Where?
Haha! This is the million dollar question many people have been asking. Let's just say, it's a company that consists of many young talents. The people who I will soon call my colleagues are relatively young (even my boss is younger than I am I think)...but well, I guess they have more experience than I do in this industry. I won't reveal as yet, simply because it's against my working ethics to do so (the company is a direct competitor to my current company...so you know what I mean). But all will be reveal once I start there on 1st October...promise!

Risk or Opportunity?
Well, every decision has its pros and cons. The risk of course is this company is a smaller company than the one I'm leaving. Another risk is that the team are all very young, which makes you wonder about their experience, capabilities and commitments. On the plus side, I bring with me experience from a bigger company having dealt with bigger corporate clients and accounts. One of my deciding factor was also because I saw potential and room for growth as I have more decision making authority there. Also, having a young team means that people can see things from your perspective.

In the mean time..
Well between 20th September and 1st October, I will have a good 10 days or so off from work. I have nothing confirmed as yet, but I think I might take a trip to some place, either alone or with who ever is interested to join me. Will play by ear on that. So who knows, I might even come find you for lunch and catch up! hehe..

So there! It's not a "secret" anymore. To all my business partners, clients and colleagues who are reading this, don't have to worry, I will be still be contactable via my mobile and MSN. So in case there is chaos, you can still give me a call anytime (but will charge consultation fees already..hehe...kidding). Heck, I will still drop by for lunches or to have drinks with you guys after work la! So don't think I am ditching you guys ok? Until then..

The Second Coming

In exactly 15 days from today. There will be a change. A drastic change. Time to get rid of the old and make way for the new. What is it? Well it's under wraps for now but stay tuned and mark August 15th 2007 on your calendar to find out. For now, that's all you are going to know.

Help Bring Norah Jones to Malaysia

I was chatting with Sue-Anne online a couple of days back, and she told me of this project where they want to try to get Norah Jones to perform in Malaysia. Immediately I told her I was interested to contribute as I would also like to see her perform here. Question is, why isn't she already here to begin with? Well anyway, I'm now part of this project together with some of her friends to setup a petition to gather enough signatures as well as online presence to make this project a success. So if you're a true blue Norah Jones' fan, visit: http://bringnorah.blogspot.com/ and sign the petition.

Please help spread the word around to everyone about this project, especially if you know any of Norah Jones' fans. Your contributions do count and will be most appreciated.
