First Glimpse Of Unit 16-03

Alright, the above is a first glimpse of my new condo (I know it's just a floor plan...but who cares!) This is the first time I'm revealing anything to anyone with regards to my new place, so you should be honoured =p

Well it's nothing extravagant (approx. 1100 sq ft) nor anything luxurious, nevertheless, I'm still proud of myself for getting my own place. It's not quite ready yet so I can't take any pictures from the inside, but once I do, I will definitely update them here for all to see. I've sent this floor plan to my sister who apparently says she will do some 3D modelling based on the plans for some interior deco ideas. Cool eh? Once done, I'll see what can I renovate and how to decorate it. Oh, did I tell you my unit is on the 16th floor and my balcony view faces D'sara and D'sara Heights area? Well, yet to see how the view actually looks like from there, but don't worry, again like I said, I will be updating everyone the progress here from now on. Until then...

Leona Lewis

Leona Louise Lewis, an English singer-songwriter and winner of the third series of the popular television talent show The X Factor.

Her debut single, "A Moment like This" (a cover of Kelly Clarkson's version), was released on 20 December 2006. The single was also available as a digital download from midnight on 17 December and broke a world record after it was downloaded fifty thousand times in thirty minutes (info sourced from Wikipedia). Wow! That is really something I must say. Her debut album titled "Spirit" reminds me a lot of Mariah Carey during the late 90's. Her vocals are really good. You know when you watch a good love movie, where there is always a good original soundtrack to go with it?....Think of this album as that...a collection of love songs from various movie soundtracks.

Here are the track listings:
01. Bleeding Love
02. Whatever It Takes
03. Homeless
04. Better In Time
05. Yesterday
06. Take A Bow
07. I Will Be
08. Angel
09. Here I Am
10. I’m You
11. The Best You Never Had
12. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
13. Footprints In The Sand
14. A Moment Like This – UK Bonus Track

My personal favourites? "Yesterday" and "Angel". If you're feeling "emo", this is definately the album you want to be getting.

My rating: 4/5
Sounds similar to: Mariah Carey (during the late 90's), Kelly Clarkson (minus the attitude), Mandy Moore (typical "emo" love song singer)

Happy Birthday People!!

If it weren't for Facebook, little did I know that I have so many friends who share the same birthdate or birthdays that are just days apart. It's amazing sometimes what you can find out through Facebook.

So to all these people listed below.... *really long drumroll*

Saturday Night @ Groove Junction

Sometimes, there is nothing better than just hanging out with your close friends for a drink and chilling out on a Saturday night. Well, my Saturday night was relatively quiet as compared to the night before where I was at The Loft on Heritage Row till they closed.

Suzanne suggested we go to Groove Junction at Sri Hartamas. It's suppose to be a place for Jazz but it was Hip-hop night and there was a live performance that night. The place was kinda okay, but a Hip-hop performance just wasn't my cup of tea. I mean, I like Hip-hop but those performers sort of kill the mood with their Snoop Dogg-50 Cent wannabe act. Well, at least the beers were cheap as it was only RM8 per mug of Tiger Beer for the whole night.

Suzanne, Me and May Lynn

Overall, it was kinda okay I guess as I will be going back there for their Jazz performances coming Tuesday and Friday night.

I'm a Pentium III

Gee, I must have been slow at realising that I had made 2 major typo errors on 2 different entries. Best part was, I only realise it after about a week from the day it was first published! The first error was on the November 7th entry where I misspelled "Disguised" as "Disgused" on the title! Can you imagine??!!! Damn slow right??!! The title so big also didn't I realise 0.O"

The second error was the previous entry dated November 13th, where I misspelled Corrinne May as Corrienne May, as the hyperlink. That's why the damn link was not working because it's linked to the wrong site!!! BAHHHH!!!

I'm in need of a processor or RAM upgrade!

Corrinne May

"Gorgeously sung retrospection that chronicles a spiritual revival of mind and spirit." - The Straits Times, Singapore

I have always been a fan of Singaporean born Corrinne May Ying Foo for her voice. Well, I have her first 2 albums and although some of the lyrics in the first 2 maybe a bit errr..."cheesy", she always tends to make up for it through her voice. This is her fourth album titled Beautiful Seed. This is by far her best (and longest) album to date. Her vocals here are just short of perfect, and really, since I got the CD all the way from Singapore (thanks again Jill!), I couldn't stop listening to it. This album is entitled Beautiful Seed, because it talks about her life's journey for the past 8 years or so - her ups and downs and it also reflects on how she has matured as a singer.

Here are the track listings:
01 Love Song for #1
02 Shelter
03 On The Side Of Me
04 Five Loaves and Two Fishes
05 Beautiful Seed
06 Leaving
07 Scars (Stronger For Life)
08 City of Angels
09 My Little Nephew
10 Slow Down
11 Green-Eyed Monster
12 On My Way
13 33
14 Shelter (Cherry Blossom Edition)

I think it's quite obvious that I totally like the album. Would I recommend it?....HELL YEAH!

My rating:
5/5 (definitely worth getting the original!)
Sounds similar to: Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlin

Stranded

Last night after work, I met May Lynn and Evie up for dinner at The Curve, and later proceeded to Wabisabi in Plaza TTDI to have some drinks. Later, May Lynn left after having some "joy juice" apple vodka which both of us recommended her...hehehe. Evie and I thought it was rather early to be headed back home (it was only 12AM at that point) so we met Janice and some of her friends up at this place called Waikiki. All I can say is, it's an uncle's joint (why Janice why??!), where you have a live band performing. Evie even said.."Hey...don't be surprise you see your dad here!" Yea...it was that bad..but heck...so long the company was good nothing else matters right?

So anyway, after the drinks, we went across the street to have some "Lok-lok" by the road side. Half way eating, it began to rain. It rained so heavily, we had to take shelter at the nearest shop lots. Well...there we are STRANDED! The rain didn't seem that it will stop anytime soon.

Our "lok-lok" seller packing up :(

Raining elephants and cows!

The stranded bunch

After about 40 mins or so, Alex decided to make a run for it to get his car, since his car was the nearest (one has to sacrifice for all to go home right?). So thanks to him, we all got to go back home. Otherwise, I think we would probably be there until the rain stopped (I was home by 5am and it was still raining!).

Angel In Disguise

" Take a look at the ordinary,
Don't need to look for paradise,
You could be next to an angel in disguise "
- Corrinne May

Sometimes we don't need to try too hard to find what we want. Whatever you want might sometimes be just right in front of you, in the simplest form, without you knowing. =)

Gifts From Abroad

Over the past week, I've been getting stuff from abroad. Well, I did ask for them and was willing to pay my friends back for it, but instead, they just didn't want the payment and gave me as gifts.

Firstly, I got a pack of 12s and 2 King Size bars of Cherry Ripe all the way from Australia courtesy of Carrie. So what so special with these sinful (and addictive) chocolates? Well, first of all, you can only get them in Australia (and New Zealand I think). And I heard Candy Empire in Singapore is the only place in the whole of Singapore that sells them too (can anyone verify this?). Anyway, imagine cherries + coconut covered with dark bitter chocolate! It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but hey...I LOVE EM!

Sinful treats!

Next, Sylvia got me a Guess necklace all the way from the States which I really wanted badly ever since I first saw it online. I did try to buy it online, problem was, Guess.com doesn't seem to accept Malaysian credit cards as part of their online transactions. I did also try to include Sylvia's address in Boston but to no avail. I even tried to search for it in Guess stores in both Singapore and Bangkok but they do not carry that design. So I thought, it was just not meant to be. So you could imagine my surprise when I met Sylvia up yesterday and she gave me the necklace!! You all must be wondering what so nice about this necklace right? Well, for starters, it's suppose to be a good luck charm. The necklace is made up of 4 elements - a crucifix, a hand of prayer medallion, a medallion of St. Francis and an Irish good luck coin with a cross. Neat eh? Well, after getting it, I tried to search for it on the Guess website for a picture and guess what?...It's not there anymore...which makes it even more unique and precious to me now! This is what the necklace looks like...

Don't you think it's nice?

Thank you Carrie and Sylvia! You both really made my week =)
