An Eventful Friday Night

Last night I left the office early and headed over to Finnegan's Pub in Desa Sri Hartamas and met up some friends for this:

Yup. It was the outlet's 7th year anniversary party and they had it the Irish way (I think) with free flow of beers and food! Needless to say, there were many people in the outlet for the freebies but I guess it was really worth it. Imagine free beers, stouts, Kilkenny and sushi (yes you heard right..sushi!) for the night. I also met a lot of new interesting people too. First, I was with my colleague Naveen, where he met up with some of his friends. Later, I met up with Janice who was there with her friends who are all divers. But there was one really interesting person who I met out of the group, a Japanese guy, Mr. Mitsuharu Ota or Ota San as they all called him. Well, why is he so interesting? Well, for starters, he is Japanese (duh!) and he has working in KL for the past year or so while his wife works in Tokyo, Japan. While talking to him, he told me that he really prefers it here as compared back in Tokyo. Why? It seems that it is less stressful here than back in Japan. "Really?? How can this be? You need to work in New Zealand then" I told him jokingly. Here is another shocker. He say he prefers driving here than back in Tokyo! According to him, the traffic there is worse and their roads are narrower. Amazing huh? And yet we complain about the damn traffic everytime. Well anyway, he is one really sporting guy, even told me he will hook me up with some Japanese girls! Ok Ota San, I will be waiting for your call then..hehe.

After a many beers and stouts later (I lost count at this point), I left the place to Plaza TTDI where there was a soft launch of a new place called Bamboo Bar. Accordingly they had free flow of drinks too till 10pm, but by the time I got there it was over. It was quite packed (usually the case if there is a free flow of drinks), so I met up some friends at a bar next door called Wasiwabi. Cool name for a bar eh? I was already "half way there" by the time I reached Wasiwabi, but that did not stop my friends to continue on drinking. So, I was "forced" to drink with them (don't worry, I can still drink but not as much...still not yet furniture mah!). After a few hours and drinks later, we went over to Bamboo Bar just to check out the hype. Well, I guess it was a really decent place but I just wonder how the future residents will feel once it is fully occupied because the music was just so loud. Yup, there is a new condo just behind which isn't occupied yet at the moment. So when it is, we shall see. After Bamboo, we all just decided to call it a night. I headed home a little wonky, but nevertheless still standing.
