I Thought The Weekend Was Over?

Me and 2 other colleagues had an afternoon meeting with a client at D'sara Heights. The meeting ended around 5PM and it was raining at that time. The client thought it would be a good idea to go get coffee and chat to avoid the traffic back to the office. Well, all I can say is, the coffee magically became 2 bottles of white wine, and with an empty stomach....not a good combination I might add. Ended up being tipsy before dinner time. As if I didn't have enough to drink during the weekend. What a way to start the week! *hic*

Not So PULSE-ating

I was at Pulse last night, a new clubbing spot supposedly doubt an "Ultra Club" in KL. Well, don't be fooled by it's name. I mean, with a name like Pulse, and "Ultra Club" (which is suppose to be higher than Super Club), one would expect high end, posh clubbing environment and really good pumping music right? Well...WRONG!

The club is situated at the new Grand Millenium hotel in Jalan Bukit Bintang. While no doubt the whole place looks super classy but the type of music there kinda ruin the whole mood and my impression of the place. Somehow, the music don't go with the place. They have a band which were playing R&B that night (and also some Indian music towards closing time!) which called themselves "The Untouchables". OMG! What a lame name! The place certainly reminded me of the old Zeta Bar in KL Hilton, where you will find some old men or even some Dato' at one corner with young girls by their side trying to be happening. I saw an elderly man (maybe in his 50s) grinding and groping a young girl which I found really disgusting. To top it off, cover charge is a whopping RM50. Luckily, it was a friend's birthday and we were on her guestlist. I would certainly not go there again unless they change their music selections.

On another note, I'm recuperating today. It's been a party-ful weekend. On Friday night I was with 4 other friends in Finnegan's at Desa Sri Hartamas and 3 of us finished a whole bottle of a Limited Edition Black Label (it was seriously so smooth that I can't even feel it). We then proceeded to Cavell's for more drinks because another bunch of friends were there and it was also the outlet's anniversary. Needless to say I was super tipsy by the time I left the place, but still good enough to drive (don't worry, I know my limits). After reaching home safely, I crashed on my bean bag, and was gone. Next morning I woke up to find myself sleeping on the floor, still clad in my jeans and t-shirt. Sigh....tomorrow is MOANDAY!

Another Busy Saturday

Wow! 2 busy Saturdays in a row. I guess I'm really fully utilizing my off days not to rest but to get things done. Again, my day started early as I headed down to my condo to supervise the on going renovation works. Also had to meet up with the electrician as I needed to tell him where I want to move certain light points and where I wanted extra light points. I bet you guys are really curious as to how the reno is coming along, well...here are just some shots on the initial stages.

Later, I went over to source for tiles for the balcony. I didn't like the standard tiles that the condo came with because it look too, well..standard! I was recommended by Terence of this tile factory warehouse somewhere in PJ. Terence, TJ and myself actually went there last Wednesday during lunch time and I saw something that I really like and it was going for so cheap (factory warehouse mah). I wanted these dark grey homogeneous tiles that will no longer be in production once the stock clears but then apparently whatever balanced stock that they have were reserved by some Dato'. WTF! Just because you're some bigshot doesn't give you the right to take everything. I did asked if I could "steal" some as I don't require much for my small balcony. The lady told me that it was ok because the fucking big shot didn't even pay a deposit! See lah...want to book all but don't want to pay sommore. So typical of Malaysian "bigshots" sigh! Anyway on Wednesday, I told the lady that I will be back on Saturday to purchase it once I took the right measurements. I then picked up 5 boxes of tiles. Freakin' tiles are so heavy that they needed a forklift to carry it out for me. My car is now a few inches lower because of these boxes...haha!

Ain't these tiles nice for my balcony?

After lunch, I went sourcing for kitchen stuff. Man!..complete kitchen systems are so darn expensive. It seem everything I like or seems nice are imported from Italy or Germany. Later that evening, I was at Mines Beach and Spa Resort for TJ's wedding dinner. Yea this is the same couple from Seremban last week. The wedding was held by a man made beach which I thought was really great but only one problem...it was too HOT! Imagine the groom and his groomsmen having their pictures taken in their suits at around 6PM! But what to do...they wanted the sunset shots mah.

Fortune cookie. Mine read: "Your outlook and charm are your greatest assets". =)

Congrats to the happy couple

With Nik & Sherin of RedRibbon Days

You just know we are all drunk and tipsy when people start wearing sunnies at night!

Overall, the wedding dinner was great. The service however, was terrible. We actually had to bribe the waiter to bring us drinks and to keep the booze coming. So much so, it was an eventful day for me with it ending with me having to drive home 2 "Casualties of War". Phew!

Marié Digby Live In Kuala Lumpur

These are some snippets of Marié Digby performing in a packed One Utama shopping centre

A packed shopping mall on a Wednesday night

Really nothing much to shout about, she just performed about 4 or 5 songs, then proceeded with the autograph signing session. There were a lot of kiasu people that already started lining up at the signing counter while she was still performing. Oh well, I'm not complaining since it's free.

The 21 Hour Saturday

*Post modified and updated* - added new pic

Last Saturday was and eventful one. There was so many things going on. My day started at 630AM, as I woke up early to travel to Seremban for a friends wedding. The brides hometown is in Seremban, therefore all the "heng tais" have to gather at Subang at 730AM to start a convoy there. The interesting part of this was, it was something rather different than the rest of the customary bridal pick-ups. We were all FORCED to wear Manchester Utd jerseys as it was one of many criterias from the bride before the groom can get to her. Not only that, we were also FORCED to memorize and sing "Glory Glory Man Utd!" before they even open the gates! Buggar! Me and another one of the "heng tai" are Liverpool fans, and the groom is actually a Chelsea fan, so making us wear those jerseys was a bitter pill to swallow. The bride is a die hard Man Utd fan you see, but nevertheless, for the groom, we were willing to let this one slide (you owe us one Teej!).

This is the FIRST, LAST and ONLY time you will ever see me in a Man Utd jersey...

All the "Chi Muis" & "Heng Tais"

Anyway, we all arrived in Seremban at around 930AM and were torchured in doing stupid stunts (all part of the Chinese custom) in order to get to the bride. From putting fruits down another guy's pants and drinking out of milk bottles to doing Karma Sutra positions, I shall leave it to your imagination on how bad it was. After the torchuring, we all had something to eat and then headed home to KL at about 1230PM (the dinner ceremony will be the following week where alcohol will be served...yay!).

As soon as we arrived, everyone headed their separate ways. I went to my condo to get some measurements as I need to source for tiles and also furniture. After getting the measurements, I headed to a few lighting shops to get some quotations for some lights. There was a shop having a 50% off promotion on all their items apart from their Best Buy items which I thought was great. Problem is, I have to speak to my contractor first because some of the lightings I want require special installation and rewirings to be done. After the light shopping (pun intended), I headed home for awhile to get some rest. It was already about 430PM by this time.

Upon reaching home, Jean called me up for dinner at BSC at 7PM. We were supposed to meet there around 830PM together with some friends later for a play at
The Actor's Studio, but since I haven't had dinner plans made so why not right? After dinner, we met up some friends and watched Kam..In Your Face, a musical-comedy-cabaret starring actors Joanne Kam, Douglas Lim, Gavin Yap and Susan Lankester.

For me the show was alright but not great. I personally feel the humor is a little too dry and very localized, meaning the "guai lous" in the audience would probably be wondering "What the fuck are they talking about?" Well, for me personally, I prefer something more witty and not so much of the "trying-to-be-funny-just-because-it's-a-comedy" humor. Then again, it's pretty subjective. I did enjoy the cabaret performances though. Another thing is that I don't find it funny to be dissing the audience that paid less that were sitting at the sides rather than in front of the main stage. I think it's rather rude. Just because they pay less doesn't mean you look down on them. Although we were sitting right in the middle, I still feel for the people sitting on the sides. Very bad of them to do so. The show ended around 11PM and we headed to WIP for drink and snacks.

Just then, Samantha called to tell me that she and her friends will be at Poppy. At first I was rather reluctant to go because I was up since 630AM and was a little tired. Then again, I haven't seen Sam for awhile, so I went down to party with her and her friends. It was around 1230 AM at this point. I must say I am getting too old for the clubbing scene. I don't really enjoy clubbing like I did a few years back. It's extermely packed and stuffy in there. Not to mention moving around is just urrgh! Plus you see so many YOUNG wannabes! Maybe I've outgrown the clubbing phase, I guess that's why I'm not at
Freedom 08 for Tiesto in Port Dickson to begin with...haha! I mean don't get me wrong, I still go clubbing and raves if there is a reason for me to do so (friend's birthday, farewell, mother's day...etc), but given a choice, I would prefer to just chill at a bar anytime.

Samantha was so happy to see me after so long...

I left there around 230AM and by the time I got back, it was already 3AM. So there, 20+ hours of activity in one day. I rested for most of the Sunday, with me only accompanying my sister for lunch and to shop for her new mobile phone during the morning. And oh..DAMN IT!..Man Utd and Ferarri won...machibai!

To My Sayang..

For close to 2 years...

You wake me up every morning and you're the first I see

You sang to me whenever I feel down

You comfort me with your brillance

You remind me of things whenever I forget

You kept me entertained with your latest gossips

You listened to my problems

You are there with me through good times and bad

You kept my memories with you

We have this inimate connection that I can't explain

I can't live without you....

...thank you my dearest N80 :P

My New LCD TV

Last Monday, I bought an LCD TV for my new place. A 32" Toshiba Regza. Well, my place isn't ready yet, but I got this at a bargain so I grabbed it while I can. You see, my brother's friend won this off a lucky draw, and she wanted to sell it away. I only paid RM1900 for it. Not bad right? The specs are not really high end, but it's good enough for me. Right now, it's being hooked up to an Audiolab amplifier and a Bose speaker system which I will also bring over to my new place. *drool drool* Sweet huh?

16-03 Update:
On another note, my condo renovations are scheduled to start mid May. There's lots of things to be done. Hacking down a wall from the master bedroom to the study to become a walk-in wardrobe, changing tiles in all 3 rooms to timber flooring, plaster ceiling in the main hall for downward lightings and corneys all round the place. Right now, I'm still thinking of what colors to be up on the walls. I'm pretty much set on the wall in dining area to be mustard yellow together with dark brown furniture. There is another wall which is going to be a feature wall where there will be paintings and photo frames. The feature wall is the first wall upon entering the place. I was thinking of painting that either Olive Green or Rust Brown color. The rest of the walls are cream in color. Below is a sketch of my reno plans...what do you think?

my renovation ideas..
