The Long Awaited Weekend..

It has been a really shitty week for me. Late nights and working long hours. There was one night that I was in the office until 3am, because we have a presentation the next day, and the stupid application decided to show off its tantrum by NOT WORKING! - It's always the case isn't it? Big day the next day, and everything gets fucked up the day or night before! Sighsss...so you can imagine how relieved I was when the weekend came.

Friday night, I was also working kinda late (7pm + on a Friday night is consider late ok!), when Zara called to ask me for a movie. When I asked what movie and she said it's some "Rat" movie!. I was like WTF isn't that a cartoon/animation movie?...First of all, I'm not really keen when it comes to watching cartoons/animated movies on the big screen simply because : 1. IT'S A CARTOON! and 2. it usually only lasts slightly more than an hour. So ok, since I really needed the break, and Zara was nice enough to call me so I went to watch Ratatouille (pronounced rat.a.too.ee) and I got to say, it was one of the best if not THE BEST animated movie I have seen! No kidding. Talk about realism in animation. What's more, the movie lasted about 2 hours long! So it made me think that if only all the animations were this good, I don't mind watching. After the movie, we met some friends up at Wabisabi, a Japanese Yakitori bar, where we sort of had supper and dinner in one plus a few glasses of alcohol of course.

Saturday night...

Well, went to Bamboo again only this time, it was because it was Jean's birthday! The night started slow, as we didn't want (or she didn't want rather) to be KOed so early. So we started out with a few jugs of beers. But alas, all hell broke loose when a bottle of Bacardi Apple was unleashed. After that, there were 3 Flamings in a row for the birthday girl followed by more jugs of beer!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN!!

Welcome to My Playground

*UPDATED FROM ORIGINAL POST*

This is DeM0NiCk's Playground. A blog where there are no rules, no holds barred and where anything goes (we don't play nice here). There isn't a specific reason for this blog. It's really meant for anything and everything!

This is a total revamp (or rebranding if you will) of the original blog. This blog design has a more personal touch and feel compared to the previous versions. Also, this design is a customized designed and it's not one of Blogger's defaults making it flexible to be edited. So hope that you all like the design. Do comment wherever you feel fit and of course, feedbacks are most welcome =)

My Chillin' Sunday

Ah yes it's Sunday! My Sundays are usually spent chillin' out at a Starbucks somewhere while surfing the web with my trusty notebook. I try to go to a different Starbucks every week so I don't get bored with just one place. So today, I got up early and headed to town! Yup, this entry is brought to you all the way from Starbucks Bukit Bintang. Call me crazy, but hey, it's fun to go Starbucks hopping every week. So here I am bloggin' whilst listening to tunes from my new Cafe Del Mar CD. Sounds chill out enough for you?

It doesn't get any better than this...

Week In Review...

Ok here is a summary of what happened for the week. There were 2 major events that happend over the week. One is life changing, the other, well...let's just say it's a calculated risk. So what is this life changing event? I will reveal soon enough, but for now I would like it to remain confidential until the time is right, because it's sensitive information (but some of you might already know). But I promise you, it's a really good thing (for me at least..I hope).

The risk I took is somewhat in the form of an investment. I have been investing a lot of late - getting into unit trusts and also stocks. So mid week, I met up Michelle to get my investments sorted out. Let's hope that turns out well *cross-fingers*

Ok Friday night, after work, my company had a bowling event. It was great fun. Mostly because I was the highest scorer =p (I'm not a pro bowler but I did managed a score of 157 in a game). After bowling, I met up Ashlin, Ee Laine and Shi Ying at Poppy. They brought their friends too, so yeah the more the merrier. It was supposed to be Jazz night, but the plans changed. I got to know more new people that night and I got to say, this thing of being random every week is begining to be a fun routine. Ash, don't you agree??

All of us...well almost all

Saturday night, I was at Kevin's sister's place for his birthday celebration. Needless to say, it was drinking madness. But unfortunately, we didn't manage to get him drunk (when I left, he was still sober at least, so don't know what happend after that..). Later after a few drinks, met up Ee Laine and Boon Ying for more drinks! But this time, mine wasn't alcoholic, as I think I had enough for the night. Later we went mamak as Ee Laine just have to get her dose of Kueh Teow goreng. Ee Laine, it's starting to become a habit! hehe...

So there you have a week's highlights. So don't say I never update my blog ah! (you know who you are!!)

P.S.: Hopefully I can get some pics from Kev's birthday. If I do, see this entry again.

Spontaneousness

Being spontaneous might be good if you want your life to be exciting. However, being spontaneous without knowing the consequences can be well...disasterous? Last Saturday night (Sunday morning), after dinner with some friends, we were deciding on what to do. No one felt like doing anything, so me and a friend decided to go Genting at 12am to see if we can get some "pocket money" for the week. Well, I guess luck wasn't on my side that night or maybe I wasn't wearing my lucky underwear! In the end, the damage was around RM500 and that was in a matter of 3 hours! Bah!!! So who says being spontaneous is good?!! Looks like I have to resort to roti canai with sugar for the whole week!

An Eventful Friday Night

Last night I left the office early and headed over to Finnegan's Pub in Desa Sri Hartamas and met up some friends for this:

Yup. It was the outlet's 7th year anniversary party and they had it the Irish way (I think) with free flow of beers and food! Needless to say, there were many people in the outlet for the freebies but I guess it was really worth it. Imagine free beers, stouts, Kilkenny and sushi (yes you heard right..sushi!) for the night. I also met a lot of new interesting people too. First, I was with my colleague Naveen, where he met up with some of his friends. Later, I met up with Janice who was there with her friends who are all divers. But there was one really interesting person who I met out of the group, a Japanese guy, Mr. Mitsuharu Ota or Ota San as they all called him. Well, why is he so interesting? Well, for starters, he is Japanese (duh!) and he has working in KL for the past year or so while his wife works in Tokyo, Japan. While talking to him, he told me that he really prefers it here as compared back in Tokyo. Why? It seems that it is less stressful here than back in Japan. "Really?? How can this be? You need to work in New Zealand then" I told him jokingly. Here is another shocker. He say he prefers driving here than back in Tokyo! According to him, the traffic there is worse and their roads are narrower. Amazing huh? And yet we complain about the damn traffic everytime. Well anyway, he is one really sporting guy, even told me he will hook me up with some Japanese girls! Ok Ota San, I will be waiting for your call then..hehe.

After a many beers and stouts later (I lost count at this point), I left the place to Plaza TTDI where there was a soft launch of a new place called Bamboo Bar. Accordingly they had free flow of drinks too till 10pm, but by the time I got there it was over. It was quite packed (usually the case if there is a free flow of drinks), so I met up some friends at a bar next door called Wasiwabi. Cool name for a bar eh? I was already "half way there" by the time I reached Wasiwabi, but that did not stop my friends to continue on drinking. So, I was "forced" to drink with them (don't worry, I can still drink but not as much...still not yet furniture mah!). After a few hours and drinks later, we went over to Bamboo Bar just to check out the hype. Well, I guess it was a really decent place but I just wonder how the future residents will feel once it is fully occupied because the music was just so loud. Yup, there is a new condo just behind which isn't occupied yet at the moment. So when it is, we shall see. After Bamboo, we all just decided to call it a night. I headed home a little wonky, but nevertheless still standing.
